Our Vision
THHF will promote awareness and educate the public about CoA, and the importance of early detection in children by speaking to students and families at local area school assemblies, youth sporting events and community health fairs about CoA, and the physical, emotional and financial toll this disease can have on affected children and their families. These informational programs will be provided at no cost to the attendees or hosting organizations.
THHF will also provide emotional support to the families of children afflicted with CoA by hosting regular group meetings at local community centers and churches where all who have been affected in one way or another by CoA can come and meet together and share their experiences. In the future, THHF also plans to create an on-line support forum where CoA patients and their families may communicate with one another for the purpose of providing each other with emotional and social support. These support services will be provided at no cost to the recipients. THHF will also organize trips and outings where children and families affected by CoA can spend time together so that they can meet and be able to share experiences in an uplifting, supportive environment.
THHF will make arrangements for interested families to visit theme parks, sporting events, and parks as a group. In the future, THHF will also make arrangements for group retreats in the Upstate New York area, giving the families an opportunity to “get away from it all” within a group atmosphere of mutual support. Lastly, THHF will network with the medical community in the state of New York so that hospitals, clinics and doctors may refer patients diagnosed with CoA to THHF for emotional, social or financial support.
